We're expecting our 6th grandchild next month.

Owen Reed Christensen!

Here's his Bright quilt!

My daughter Amy said make it bold

I think this fit's the bill.

And a sneak peak at Rylie's 4th birthday quilt.

More quilts for Meg

Meg named this quilt Man Cave!

It's quilted in large swirls with a simple meander fill.

I don't know what it is about circles and batiks, they're always a perfect match.

I wish you could see this quilt in person.

Meg used the perfect pinks and gray fabric.

A close up of the filigree quilting in the sashing.

Meg had originally planned to have a solid gray strip,
but decided to add a center block making it a 3 block strip.
I think it makes the quilt!!

 Finished!

Remember this challenge?

A few fabrics swapped out and a few trial runs.

 Nope

 Ew!

Yup!

On the machine today

Sometimes a simple meander is just what's needed for a basic background fill.

Who would have thought longarming would be hard on the elbows, lol.  I have to take a little break each pass, and it's not even a tight meander.  Hmmmm, wonder if this is what tennis elbow feels like? Don't say it .... more like what getting old feels like!!

I never tire of a good batik quilt.  Meg's is a beauty!

Steven's quilt

Hot off the longarm!  Simple swirls, nothing "feminine" as promised.

My husband and I have been blessed to work with the youth in our church for the past 14 years together.

I usually work with just the girls but I've been teaching the 15 year old Sunday School class this year and have really enjoyed getting to know the boys better.

One of the boys (Steven) is quite the Character (actually most of them are, lol).  When he heard I was quilting his graduation quilt he wanted to make sure I was quilting it with as much love as his mother put into the piecing.  I assured him I was.

I quilted his two older brothers quilts as well when they graduated.  I remember them bringing Steven to our home when he was much younger to game nights.  I worried the older kids would pick on their little brother.  Boy could he hold his own!  No worries there, this kid has some feisty genes, lol..  Love it!

Regan's older children are all girls who insisted on their mom quilting their quilts for sentimental reasons.  So it was quite the honor to be able to work on all the boys quilts.

Thank you Regan!

Wish me luck

The graphing has begun!

This is what happens when you see a cheap Craftsy pixelating class at 2am.  I figure I'll work on it a little bit each night.  Once I figured out how to do conditional formatting on a Google spreadsheet it started to get fun.  I kept making a simple mistake over and over and over until I was ready to scream.  3am will do that to you.  Next time I'll just go to bed and try in the morning.   Once I got it, I didn't want to go to bed.

Next, figuring out my fabrics ....yikes!  Not sure why they look blue and brown in this picture.  They are all gray.  But here's a few I'm auditioning.
