On the frame today

Another beauty for meg.

This is one BIG quilt, 100 X 110.

I always have a hard time giving large quilts back to their owners.  We still have queen size quilts on our king size bed.   Cobblers child with no shoes syndrome?

Morgan's Birthday Quilt!

My granddaughter Morgan turns two today!  Good thing I finished binding her quilt last night.

Morgan is really into animals right now, so I new I had to get this fabric for her as soon as I saw it.

And I knew just what I wanted to make out of it.  A bean bag toss quilt!
(Toss the bags onto the matching block)

Hope she likes her new VERY loud quilt =)

And the equally loud backing.

A table runner & a wall hanging

First up, a fun table runner.

This quilt is my customers very first quilt.

I think she did great!

Can't wait to see what she makes next.

Oak leaves

Just in time for the Thanksgiving table!

Sue's table runners are going home today.

Yet another "someday" project to add to my list.

Aren't they pretty?  I love the variety of colors.

 The sun came out!

On the longarm today

I finally loaded my granddaughter Morgan's quilt tonight.

Good thing, her birthday is next Tuesday.

I'm still in love with this animal fabric, but wow this is one LOUD quilt, lol.

Betsy's T-shirt quilt

When I get in a fun T-shirt quilt like this it makes me sad I didn't do this for my kids.  I love how bright and happy this one is.

Chevron

While cleaning out some pictures from my phone I found a few "blurry" quilts from last month.  Here's the first one.

So sad the pictures came out so bad.

I love a good chevron and this ones a beauty =)

The bridge man begins

I'm finally ready to start piecing the bridge man.  Woo hoo!

What started out as a very organized process soon became a mess on top of a step ladder.  With one very precariously perched lamp for light.  Did I mention he's on a temporary design wall that is starting to fall down?  900 little squares barely hanging on for dear life.  I need to get this pieced before he dies a slow death on my floor.

And the leftovers....yes the left overs.  Unfortunately I had to cut up an entire yard of fabric into 2" squares before I would know if it would work or not.  I'm guessing I have a few thousand squares left over.  I see one ...or more gray quilts with small squares in my future.  Hmmm, with red crosses??

He started out with over 1,500 squares but I edited him a bit .....after arranging him 3 times and then pulling him down and starting over.   Glad I made the changes and tossed the pattern I spent months making.  Eyeballing the picture was so much easier for me and my "can't follow the rules" brain.

So where is he?  My friend and I agreed to not look at each others quilts until they are finished and ready to turn in.   And besides I go from liking him, to nervous laughter, to oh my gosh he is hideous I can't show this to anyone!!   But all in all "Bob" is growing on me =)   Hahahahaha, oh the joys of a good quilt challenge!

Just off the frame!

Carol's leaves!  I love Carol's color combinations and placement.  This was a fun one to work on.  Lots of thread changes but worth the cleaner look.  Lynn's just arrived in the mail and has a completely different look to it.  ......Coming soon =)

The only request for the quilting on Brenda's quilt was to keep it geometric, no feathers.  Straight lines and curves it is!

And finally remember this one from yesterday?  I can't believe I let it go without final pictures.  I loved some of the fabrics (kimonos) in this one.  The outer border was perfect with hints of red.

And the fun continues!

Box #4 has arrived!
All this color makes me smile =)

I've had my eye on that number fabric for awhile, score!

I'm thinking of making a bag out of the vinyl covered fabric on the bottom to take quilts in.  We had a little coffee mishap at the last meeting.  The gal in front of us tipped over a very tall coffee flooding about 4 bags of quilts and 2 totes.  3 of those bags were mine.  2 were water proof feed sacks and one was soaked.  Miraculously the quilt in side was fine!  (It was the charity quilt I posted the other day)  She felt so bad!  No matter what we said to convince her no one was mad she still looked devastated.

On the machine today and a nice surprise!

Yet another kimono quilt for Edie.  I love the red in the border fabric on this one.  More pics to come =)

Yesterday was a bit like Christmas.  My sister Teri sent me 3 boxes of fabric she had thinned out of her stash.

She knows I am in need of low volume fabrics for a quilt I'm wanting to make.  She also sent a massive pile of bright fabrics.   She laughed about the state of the brights.  Years ago she had a huge pile of fabrics spread out while designing a new pattern (Black Mountain Quilts).  An unexpected guest caused her to shove everything in a huge tote which was forgotten on a top shelf in the garage.

I had more fun last night taking out each peace, ironing it and sorting them into piles.  It was like Christmas!  And the best part...she said she shipped 4 boxes, there's 1 more yet to come.  Woo hoo!

 Don't they look pretty?

Uh oh Guido is running out of space.  I think I am officially a hoarder now.  Hmmm should I worry that it brings me so much joy?

Almost finished!

I just need to figure out what to put in the outer border and shes ready to go home!

I forgot how time consuming ruler work is.  I'm loving my new "longer" ruler though.  I don't know how I quilted for 14 years without it.  The next quilt up is all ruler work as well, which I love doing, but boy will I be ready for some freehand work after this week =)

A few brights

I love a bright quilt and these two fit the bill.

First up, my sister Caro'ls quilt.  I've been wanting to make one of these for years.  This one is by far my favorite and has prompted me to buy some very bright, large print fabrics.

Bring on the color!

I quilted it in a large chevron.

I love the texture it gives it.

The second quilt is a charity quilt pieced buy a fellow member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild.  It has now moved on to yet another member for binding.  And then on to a Child in need of some comfort.  I hope it brings them some of the cheer it has brought me as well as comfort.

I now have another "must make someday" quilt on the list.  The name of this block is Urban Chicken.  Is that the perfect quilt name for me or what??

It's quilted to represent the flower beds my chickens love to dig in around my yard.

Makes me want to buy some bright yellows!
