A few brights

I love a bright quilt and these two fit the bill.

First up, my sister Caro'ls quilt.  I've been wanting to make one of these for years.  This one is by far my favorite and has prompted me to buy some very bright, large print fabrics.

Bring on the color!

I quilted it in a large chevron.

I love the texture it gives it.

The second quilt is a charity quilt pieced buy a fellow member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild.  It has now moved on to yet another member for binding.  And then on to a Child in need of some comfort.  I hope it brings them some of the cheer it has brought me as well as comfort.

I now have another "must make someday" quilt on the list.  The name of this block is Urban Chicken.  Is that the perfect quilt name for me or what??

It's quilted to represent the flower beds my chickens love to dig in around my yard.

Makes me want to buy some bright yellows!

  1. I'm definitely not a modern quilter but this Urban Chicken really strikes my fancy. I'm sure it's the quilting.
