Christmas wall hangings

Some lucky people will be getting these beauties from my customer this year.  Don't you wish  you were on her list?  I do =)

I'd love to see these finished.  I think they're fabulous now, I can only imagine how cute they'll be with eyes, lol.

Shirley's thrift store find

What a find!  I love the quirks in a hand pieced top.  Very few points matched up and tucks were taken as needed to piece, making this beauty anything but flat.   I spent an entire day taking additional tucks in order to quilt it.

As challenging as it was, I had a blast quilting it.  There's something very satisfying about finishing someones project started long ago.  Every quilt deserves to be quilted.  I'm happy Shirley found this one and finally let it be marked off as finished.

Brooklyn's quilt

Carrie has made quite a few quilts using this pattern in Americana fabrics.   Her daughter in-law Brooklyn made this one.  I just love it!   It's amazing how fabric can change the whole feel of a quilt.

Brenda's quilt

Every once in a while Brenda will ask me to just do a simple outlining on a fabric.  It's more of a comforter in look and feel.  I was a little worried when she asked me to do this on only part of this quilt.  I wondered how a part quilt, part comforter would look.  The main fabric was bought while on a trip to France (at $25 a yd. I didn't want this to be a flop)  I wasn't sure until it was off the frame and then I LOVED it!!!

 Here's Brenda's 2nd quilt.  Another beauty!

We're off to watch the grand kids pick out their Christmas tree.   I love this time of the year!!

Getting behind in blogging again.

Wow has it been almost a month already?  I'm not doing so well on my goals, lol.

Love this quilt of Lynn's!!!   I had a hard time giving it back to her.  It will be stretched on a canvas frame for her studio.  As you can see it's only held together by the quilting.  I quilted the circle on my Juki, which is why there are threads on the back.

 Another for Lynn!

Novembers project

A few years ago I was inspired by a customers quilt.  I knew I wanted to make a wall hanging for my hall bathroom based on Lynn's gorgeous quilt (below).  I think it's the perfect project for my November goal.  Fast and simple!

Oops, upside down and sideways.

Some doodles and indecisiveness.  So much for fast and simple.  I like the woven ribbons, but I originally wanted more a water feel.

After tossing the first attempt (ribbons) I think #2 wins.

On the frame today

It's the first day quilting on my new and improved Gammill.  It's amazing what a tune up can do.  I feel like I have a new machine.  It's so much quieter and I'm not out running it anymore.  Oh and all the switches work again.  Who knew a bad speed dial could wreak such havoc.  Woo hoo!!

I'm actually starting a wall hanging for my hall bathroom.  My goal is to finish it by Thanksgiving.  Then another by Christmas..... and another by Valentines day.  Are you seeing a pattern?  I seem to need specific dates or goals to shoot for, lol.   This one is small and simple, so no excuses to not finish on time =)
